Lisa O'Connor
Founding member, Lisa O'Connor, grew up with horses and is passionate about providing safe landing places for horses that are at risk, and educating the public regarding the current issues affecting horse welfare in our Country. "In today's society, horses that can no longer perform their originally intended use as a riding horse, a work horse, or other, are vulnerable to neglect, abuse, and abandonment. Often, they end up at auction and are shipped over our U.S. borders to Canada and Mexico to a horrifying and inhumane end in slaughterhouses." "These horses are of all ages and all breeds, they have been pets, beloved show ponies, lesson horses, race horses, work horses." Lisa is committed to giving these horses a voice and raising up the message that they need our advocacy now.
Lisa and family moved from Napa Valley in 2018 and are now living in Chester Springs, Pa. in the heart of horse country. She is involved with the important work of Sunrise Horse Rescue nearly every day.... and says, "thank goodness for ZOOM!
