In introducing Sunrise Horse Rescue as the Non-Profit of the Year, the Visitor Center’s Traci Gee said, “Over the past four years Sunrise Horse Rescue has received hundreds of calls for help for horses in desperate need in Northern California. They give priority to those in Napa and surrounding counties but have helped horses from farther away if they are at extreme risk."
“Sunrise Horse Rescue has helped many horses over the years and provided resources and education to many owners. New programs include the Connected Horse, working with people living with dementia and their caregivers, corporate enrichment programs, and numerous kid’s groups.”
Sunrise was founded by St. Helena resident Lisa O’Connor.
